Over the past thirty years, Mancunian guitarist and singer Phil Busby has been a shop assistant, gardener, busker; psychiatric nurse, actor, painter & decorator, labourer, freelance writer, barman and, briefly, a university lecturer. Musically he’s played all sorts of rock, indie, jazz, Latin, reggae and thrash metal, but now he’s finally got his act together – digging deep into the old time blues with a mix of wicked slide guitar, raucous cigarbox, and one beautiful little African lute. His live shows chart a musical journey from sub-Saharan roots through Mississippi and Chicago to British R&B, and even English Folk. Wherever the music comes from though, it’s all rollickin’ good blues!
"Phil is terrific!!!"
